Julie Ghent Receives the 2016 South Carolina AHEC Michel Porter Ambassador Award

Julie Ghent (left) and Mid-Carolina AHEC Center Director Cheri Plyler (right) The South Carolina AHEC Michel Porter Ambassador Award recognizes a member of the South Carolina AHEC System who has made a major contribution to the enhancement of the South Carolina AHEC. This year, the South Carolina AHEC is proud to bestow the award to Julie Ghent at Mid-Carolina AHEC. Ms. Ghent is a Health Professions Student (HPS) Program Coordinator at Mid-Carolina AHEC. With over 18 years of service, Ms. Ghent has helped place countless health professions students throughout Mid-Carolina’s 11-county region for their clinical rotations, as well as served as a liaison between students, communities, preceptors and universities. She exemplifies the spirit of AHEC by always coming to the table with solutions and opportunities to expand and improve current HPS programming. Upcoming Continuing Professional Development Opportunities with Upstate AHEC

American Physical Therapy Association Clinical Instructor Education & Credentialing Program Upstate AHEC is collaborating with the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Greenville Technical College to offer an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Clinical Instructor Education and Credentialing Program on April 22 and 23 at the Benson Campus of Greenville Technical College in Greer. This program is recognized by the APTA as a clinical instructor education and credentialing program (CIECP) and is designed for those interested in or involved with clinical education, especially clinical instructors, center coordinators of clinical education, and academic coordinators of clinical education. Outcomes of the CIECP are measured through a credentialing assessment center for physical therapy providers.   Participants apply information from the CIECP in six simulated situations. County Health Rankings & Roadmaps Webinars
