Lowcountry AHEC Offers Prenatal to Postpartum Training
In order to improve the health outcomes of mothers and infants, Lowcountry AHEC is offering “Prenatal to Postpartum: What You Need to Know” on May 26 at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in Charleston. This program includes five speakers who will share their expertise on the management of the inpatient obstetrical patient as well as the newborn. Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and postpartum hemorrhage will be defined and analyzed. Measures to manage shoulder dystocia will be reviewed and the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) and Biological Nurturing (BN) will also be discussed. Finally, the Finnegan Neonatal Abstinence Scoring Tool and management of neonatal sepsis will be examined.
