Seven new
faculty members were recently appointed to serve at the regional USC School of
Medicine campus in Florence. The Florence site is a new clinical training site
for third and fourth year medical students based at McLeod Regional Medical
Center and Carolinas Hospital System, in partnership with Francis Marion University.
The newly appointed faculty leaders are: Director of Student Services Scott Allen, MD; Family Medicine Clerkship
Site Director Ernie Connor, MD; Internal
Medicine Clerkship Site Director Paul
DeMarco, MD; Pediatric Clerkship Site Director Ben Elder; Surgery Clerkship Site Director Howard Ferrell, MD; Psychiatry Clerkship Site Director Cathy Layne, MD; and Obstetrics/Gynecology
Clerkship Site Director Charles Tatum,
MD. William Hester, MD,
serves as the Assistant Dean for Medical Student Education-Florence.
